Former India bowler Praveen Kumar, who long bid adieu to cricket, is in the news once again, after an explosive interview, where he made certain revelations. While talking with The Lallantop, Praveen, who shared the dressing room with the likes of MS Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar, and Rahul Dravid, opened up about his much-talked about off-field issues.
One of them was his drinking issue; but Praveen said that it was just an image that was built around him, and there wasn’t much truth in it. “When I was in the Indian team, seniors said ‘drink nahi karna, yeh nahi karna, woh nahi karna’ (Don’s drink, don’t do this, don’t do that).
“The senior players said. Karte sab hai. Lekin wahi baat hai na ki badnaam kar dete hai ‘PK toh drink karta hai’. Sab peete hai (Everybody does it but they tarnished me saying I drink’” Praveen said.

On being asked, who really spoiled his image, the Meerut man went on to say, “Nahi. Naam nahi lena chahta camera pe. Pata sabko hai kisne PK ko badnaam kiya. (I don’t want to take the person’s name. Everybody knows him). Those who know me personally, they know How I am. A bad image of me has been created.”
