Prior to the start of the series, India were in pole position. But South Africa after their dominance in the Boxing Day test climbed up the charts to take the top spot while India slipped to the 6th spot, one position below Pakistan.
But India came with all guns blazing in the IND vs SA 2nd Test. They bundled the hosts for 55 in the first innings. South Africa fought back a little in their second innings, but India chased down the mere target of 79 with ease to clinch a 7 wicket victory and level the series.
India’s top spot in the WTC Standings is now dependent on the outcome of the PAK vs AUS Sydney Test. If the match results in a draw, India will retain their top spot.
