Aaron Finch to bid adieu to Big Bash League after end of season

Former Australia captain Aaron Finch has called time on his Big Bash League (BBL) career. Finch, who led Australia side to T20 World Cup win in 2021, will sign off from the domestic T20 league after the end of season.

Finch, who represented Australia in 146 ODIs and 103 T20Is, has been part of the Melbourne Renegades since BBL’s inception.

“There’ve been some real lows but great highs, and I’ve loved every bit of the journey. No moment can compare to winning the BBL title, that for me was very special and something I’ll remember,” Finch said.

“I’m proud to have played at the one club for the entirety of my career.”

The Renegades are languishing bottom of the points table in the BBL 13 and are mathematically out from finals contention, with only three games remaining.
