The collapse of gigantic proportions happened after KL Rahul fell after his 33-ball vigil. And from there on it was game over, as Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, and Virat Kohli, followed soon after.
As far as former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar is concerned, Rahul might just be the one to have triggered a collapse. Not for getting dismissed, but for being too defensive. “See, you have to play shots. KL Rahul was too defensive. You won’t last long if you defend so much. In a way, Rahul’s approach played a small role in bringing SA back into the match,” Manjrekar said on ESPNCricinfo.
