South Africa surrendered to Mohammed Siraj’s lethal bowling spell as they bundled out at 55, reducing to the lowest score against India in the first innings of the 2nd Test match in Cape Town on Wednesday.
Proteas’ previous lowest total was 79 in 2015 when they played against India in Nagpur Stadium.
Siraj claimed his best bowling figure in Test cricket with six wickets conceding 15 runs.

For the Proteas, David Bedingham and Kyle Verreynne were the only batters to reach double digits, scoring 12 and 15, respectively. Apart from them, no one else even crossed the 10-run mark.
Indian pacer Bumrah picked two wickets while Mukesh Kumar also cleared up two batters.
