Indian Super League: Why is Adrian Luna not playing today’s ISL match for Kerala Blasters?

Kerala Blasters FC, still in the hunt for their first ISL silverware, have kickstarted their ISL 2024-25 journey by taking on Punjab FC in the opening game for both teams. However, after announcing their playing XI, Blasters fans were shocked to see KBFC playing without their energetic captain, Adrian Luna. The midfielder couldn’t make it to the squad against Punjab FC, but what could be the reason behind his absence from today’s ISL game?

Why is Adrian Luna not playing today?

The reason for his absence is special for him, as the Uruguayan footballer has been granted a week off to travel back home for the birth of his child. This is why he is not with the team currently. Also, it’s important to note that he is returning after an arthroscopic surgery following a chondral knee injury on his left leg, which caused him to miss crucial games last season. Now fully fit, we can expect him to return soon and hopefully help Kerala Blasters achieve big wins this season.
