Continuing his excellent form in the BBL 2023-24, Webster notched an impressive fifty and treated fans to a colossal 108-meter six off Brendan Doggett in the 11th over. Webster’s shot, launched from Doggett’s half-pitch delivery, soared over deep mid-on into the second tier at Adelaide Oval.

Adelaide Strikers, batting first, saw Chris Lynn’s explosive innings of 83* off 42 balls and captain Matthew Short’s contribution of 56 runs off 32 balls, leading them to a total of 205/4. In response, Melbourne Stars, despite losing opener Thomas Rogers early, stayed competitive with a rapid fifty from Dan Lawrence.

Webster top-scored with 66 runs off 48 balls, and Maxwell’s crucial cameo of 28 off 17 balls set the stage for an explosive finish by Marcus Stoinis. Stoinis blazed an unbeaten 55* off just 19 balls, including four sixes and six fours, securing Melbourne Stars their third win in six games this season.

Beau Webster’s stellar performance adds to his impressive run this season, amassing 164 runs in just four innings, the highest for Melbourne Stars, at a strike rate of 126.15, with two fifties. Notably, Webster had also showcased a powerful 102-meter six during Melbourne Stars’ game against Sydney Thunder last week.
