‘Choking of highest quality’ Rohit Sharma brutally trolled for 2nd innings duck in IND vs SA 1st Test

South Africa kept piling on to the Indian misery in the IND vs SA 1st Test. After putting up a huge score of 408 in the first innings in reply to India’s 245, the Proteas struck early to in India’s second innings by taking the huge wicket of Indian captain Rohit Sharma for a duck. Kagiso Rabada proved lethal once again, bowling a fantastic pitched-up delivery that swung ever-so-slightly to completely fox Rohit Sharma into playing down the wrong line. Social media reacted furiously to Rohit’s duck. Some called Rohit a ‘choker’ while another user asked the Indian captain to retire. One user also compared Rohit to Maggi noodles, referring to Rohit’s early dismissals.

Rohit would be disappointed to miss out on the chance to score some big runs. He looked a distant shadow of the version the cricket fans saw in the ODI World Cup. In spite of taking a break from the IND vs AUS and IND vs SA white-ball series, the opening batter hasn’t got going in the South Africa tour yet.

Rohit’s off form will be a cause of worry for Team India management as the Indian team looks to win their maiden series in South Africa. However, with both openers not being amongst the runs, it leaves a lot of work for the Indian middle-order in tough conditions.
