Rohit Sharma will be looking to etch history as he can become the first-ever Indian captain to win a Test series in South Africa. The senior pro also had a good batting session ahead of the IND vs SA Test series starting on December 26 (Tuesday) in Centurion.
Rohit Sharma has had a little tough time recently. After getting his dream shattered to win a World Cup as skipper, the right-handed batter was also removed from the captaincy post of the Mumbai Indians in IPL. To recover, he along with his family went to England recently for a vacation. However, Rohit is now back with the Indian contingent and will be eyeing a historic Test series win as a skipper in South Africa.

Rohit averages 46.54 in Tests
The right-handed batter has some impressive numbers in Test cricket and the opener will look to lead from the front. The 36-year-old averages 46.54 in longest format of the game. In 52 matches, Rohit has amassed 3677 runs with 16 fifties, 10 centuries and one double-century.
The conditions in South Africa might also suit Rohit’s style of play who is an excellent player of short-pitched stuff. It remains to be seen whether he will be able to apply his aggressive template of batting in the Test series just like the World Cup.
