However, the Florida weather conspired against them, washing out the match entirely. Their only hope hinged on the Bangladesh vs Netherlands match also being abandoned. With that match reaching a conclusion soon, the dream run for Wanindu Hasaranga’s men has officially come to an end.
This early exit comes as a massive disappointment for Sri Lankan fans, who had high expectations for their team. The squad possessed a potent attack on the helpful USA and Caribbean conditions. However, they were unable to translate that potential into results on the field.
