Karthik’s unbeaten knock of 53 runs came off a mere 23 balls, a masterclass in aggressive batting. His knock was crucial in counteracting Jasprit Bumrah’s fiery spell of 5/21 for MI. The 38-year-old batsman smashed five boundaries and four lusty sixes, taking apart the MI bowling attack with exceptional strokeplay.
Karthik found the gaps with precision and played shots all over the park. He even accumulated a crucial 19 runs off the last over bowled by Akash Madhwal to wrest back momentum for RCB. This late surge ensured they posted a challenging total despite losing wickets at regular intervals.
